HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0599sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought an HP gaming laptop just over a year ago. It started making a cracking noise when opening/closing the lid recently, which is getting worse. I took a look and noticed that the hinge casing has split along the seam. I can click it all back together but on the next screen close/open it'll open right back up again.

Knowing that we've looked after it really well and it's not the result of anything other than standard use, I had a look online and noticed that this is a very common problem (i.e. design flaw).

Given how common this is, has anyone else managed to get a resolution? Most of the posts on here get answered with a private message so I've no idea on the eventual outcome for any of the other customers.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.
