HP Laptop 15-bs1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

For the past seven months, I haven't been able to get my laptop to charge its battery and it is out of warranty.
I've followed all the instructions I could find in this forum (especially this thread) and beyond.
Thinking the battery might be end of life, I've purchased two different replacement batteries, but neither of them charged either (I returned them for a refund).
When I start up my laptop, the Windows taskbar power icon will say the battery is charging. However, this stops after about a minute. At one point I was somehow able to get the battery to charge to 27% before it stopped charging. Since then, it has gone down to zero from times I've left the laptop unplugged.
I am in France. There don't seem to be any HP repair centers in the country.
Is there something else I can try?

I'm including two HP PC Hardware Diagnostic UEFI battery test logs.
One from May 2020 and one from Dec 2020.
The May 2020 log was from a test on one of the new replacement batteries (after-market since HP does not supply the battery any more) and says the "Battery fuse may be blown".
The Dec 2020 was a test of my old battery. It says, "Battery state is good; but Low Voltage Disable is detected.", and then, "Will not check battery charging since the DeepDischarge variable is TRUE".

Is there any way to set the DeepDischarge variable to FALSE? Would that help?

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are looking for a replacement battery for your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Have you updated the BIOS on the computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you contact support and they will assist you in ordering the replacement battery for your computer.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

P.S: Welcome to the HP Support Community 😊

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Thank you for responding. I don't think you've quite understood my post. I am not looking for a new battery. I already tried two new batteries and I still had the problem. (In any case, HP no longer provides replacement batteries for my laptop.)  I also have the latest bios installed.

Are you the same kind of HP support agent I would reach by phone? Can you re-read my post and see if you can help, or tell me how calling HP support would be different from emailing with you?

Many thanks,

@dsturman

I have read your post and that's the reason why I suggested you contact support as the laptop needs to be checked physically. As you have already replaced the battery the issue might be with the charging board or the DC port.

Thanks!

Okay. I'll see if I can find a local HP authorized repair service.
