1. Can the RAM be upgraded from 8 gb to 16 gb. Do I need to purchase 16 gb RAM or 8 gb

2. The currently installed SSD is 1 tb. Can this be upgraded further?

Hi,

You can upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM 

So, yes you can insert an extra 8GB module in the empty slot for a total of 16GB

There is no limit to the capacity of the M2 PCIe NVMe SSD. So, you can replace with a larger capacity one from your preferred brand.
