Model 15dw-0083wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased the HP 15dw-0083wm laptop from Walmart recently and attempted to upgrade the 4 gb of RAM to 8 gb.  All specs and research indicated that this machine could be upgraded with the additional stick of RAM.    To my dismay, the board in this machine did not have the needed Slot or Clips installed on the board.  The space for this hardware is provided, with no hardware to insert the new RAM.

Does anyone know if this was intentionally omitted or is it a factory defect?   To go to 8 gb it appears that a new 8gb stick would be needed, thus discarding the existing 4gb.

A photo of the empty space needed for another RAM stick is provided.RAM Photo for Review.jpg

Thank You

Hi:

Notebooks with the Intel Pentium processors only have one memory slot.

See chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info..

And you are 100% correct...you will need to remove the 4 GB chip and replace it with an 8 GB chip.
