Hello all,
Firstly, I'm looking forward to browsing this community - it looks like a great resource!
I have a question about upgrading to an SSD drive on my Notebook 14-an010na.
I currently have a 1TB SATA drive and have been considering either a 1TB or 2TB SSD.
I have the technical skills to carry out the task myself, but the service and maintenance manual is a little vague on upgrade options.
I'm presuming the options listed in the manual are HP configurations for this model and it lists the SSD option of 500gb.
Can I install a third party SSD without running into any configuration issues?
I will be upgrading to 16gb of RAM (2x8gb) at the same time.
I would be very grateful for any advice.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c05281433
Your machine does not M.2 slot for storage therefore you have to use 2.5" SATA SSD. You can replace existing 1TB of HDD with 1TB or 2TB of 2.5" SATA SSD using
https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-mx500-ssd
https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/860evo/
Or similar from reputable vendors.
One example (compatible drive, can use smaller/larger capacity)
https://www.crucial.com/ssd/mx500/ct2000mx500ssd1/ct13452625
For RAM, it has 2x4GB now, you can upgrade to 2x8GB (max) using
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr3/ct2kit102464bf160b/ct13452643
All good computers stock Crucial and Samsung products.
