OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-en1000 (2L1F2AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a month old HP Omen en1000 https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/omen-15.6-inch-gaming-laptop-pc-15-en1000/2100371351/model/2100... . My issue is that whenever I play games or do something intensive the battery starts draining while the laptop is plugged in. I have inquired from other people who own the same model but they do not see this drain even after 4 hours of gaming. My laptop on the other hand drains up to 80% from 100% in a matter of 1 hour. I have tried testing this by turning the Adaptive battery health in bios both on and off and it still occurs in both cases. I have checked the battery health and it is normal according to Support Assisstant. What should I do in this case? Is my product defective?

It would seem that that system board charging circuit has a defective component, unless you are using a power adapter other than the one your Omen was delivered with. Your power adapter should be a 150 or 200 Watt depending on which discrete video solution your specific model has.

Your Omen should have the 200W unit since it has the RTX 3060 discrete video solution

I suggest contacting HP for warranty service.

Hi Erico,

Yes it is the 3060 variant with a 200W Smart AC Adapter. I did contact the HP support team and then they suggested me to run some hardware tests using UEFI and the HP Support Assistant and since everything said normal or passed they are refusing to even send a technician over. So now I am perplexed as I am sure that this is not the ideal or expected behavior and am puzzled at what I should do now. Can you recommend any other strict or direct step that I can take?

I can ask a Moderator to assist you in connecting you with a team within HP who can assist you.

I would consider using video for evidence  to show that this actually happens.

Yes please that would be helpful if you could connect me with the same.

Also regarding the video, I don't understand how I can provide a video of around 1+ hours to show that the battery is actually draining when I am playing the game for that time. If it is about proof, couldn't HP send a technician to my address as my laptop is only 1 month old since warranty has began and even the initial setup warranty has 2 months left. The support agent I connected to a while ago did not give any convincing replies regarding this.

I have contacted the Moderation staff.

You can use the Windows Battery report utility to show how long the charge is lasting. I described how to invoke it and save it in the notebook knowledgebase article at the hyperlink below.

Save the complete HTML file  in text format in the method as I described it. That should suffice as proof.

@hamzeh_96

Is your notebook also within the warranty period?

I have contacted the Moderation staff. Perhaps they can connect you with a team a HP who can help you with your issue. Since it is the weekend, I would not expect a response until Monday.
