OMEN by HP - 15-ce006nm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

1. recently my HP Omen 15 started to shut down when I unplug it from the charger and I can't turn it back on whatever I try. LED light that signals the power of laptop dissapears too when laptop is unplugged. When I plug the charger back then I can turn it back on. When I turn it on the CMOS throws 502 error and my date and time get set to the value that was when I unplugged the laptop ( I assume it's the BIOS last save or something like that). I tried to update BIOS, change battery plan, revert Windows update, disable battery drivers and nothing worked.

2. My battery is stuck at 98% and it shows that the battery is being charged but it never reaches 100%. I recently bought new battery ( around 4 months ago). I ran HP Support Assistent diagnostics and it says that battery works properly but it needs to be calibrated but I can't calibrate it because if I unplug the charger laptop shuts down immidiately. I ran the charger diagnostics too and it says it is perfectly fine too.

Is it battery problem or is it maybe motherboard problem or something like that? I tried everything but nothing helps. Laptop works perfectly fine on charger on other side but I really want to solve this problem. Thank you for any help you can offer.

@Kujki

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. To resolve the CMOS Reset Error (502), restore the BIOS.

  1. Press enter to restart the PC.

  2. If the error displays after restarting, try to restore the BIOS using a USB drive. For more information, see the "Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive" section of the following: For notebook computers, go to HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System).

  3. If restoring the BIOS fails, contact HP: https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
