HP Pavilion 17 Notebook Laptop Battery Hatch not opening.

Hi,

 

So my battery on the laptop has been weird lately to the point where it is plugged in and is not charging. I have tried all the steps to do so and I am at the point at removing the battery and replacing it. However when I tried using the battery latch slider, it seems to not slide all the way more of slide half way and I guess is stuck. So I'm wondering what to do in this situation because I don't have a warranty hence this is a 5 year old laptop from 2015. I want to try to pry it out open but not sure, or unscrew the back cover of the laptop and take it out but I am not sure of that as well. I need help on this really badly and I hope there's a fix for this. Thank you
