Is the HDMI port on the back an INPUT or an OUTPUT?

Hello @AIM1,
The HDMI port is provided to give output to an External Monitor or TV.
You have to use one end HDMI cable to the PC and other end depends on the device port that you are connecting.Whether its has HDMI or a Display port etc,,

I'm hoping to buy one of these PCs soon and cannot find documentation to indicate if I could use to HDMI port either:
1. Occasionally as an external monitor for a laptop - I think the answer is no?
2. Add an external monitor to extend the desktop from the buil-in PC monitor - I think this requires a USB-to-HDMI graphics adapter?
Probably good technical reasons for both. Pity it's not officially documented anywhere I can find as this is my only query on what otherwise looks like a brilliant machine.
