HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0036nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

i have a HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0036nl since 3 months and in the last days i have a problem with the battery. Most of the time I use it plugged in.

This is the situation of the problem:

1. Power off with battery status 100% and disconnect from the power supply

2. After 10 minutes turn it on without connecting it to the power supply (no usb or hard drive connect to the port), battery drains to 5% and pc shut down instantly

3. Connect it to the power supply and turn on, battery status 5% and after 5 minutes goes to 100%

Diagnostic said that the battery status it's ok, i had this problem at least 5 times. i have even update the bios to the last version but the problem still remains

anyone had this problem?

thanks in advance

@zancoo- You will need to Understand Lithium-Ion and Smart Battery Technology: Click here for details

Resetting the ACPI battery driver may take care of this. There will be a hard reset mixed in as well, so the two methods combined typically help a lot with battery issues.

1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.

2. Expand batteries.

3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.

4. Shut down the computer.

5. Disconnect the charger.

6. Remove the battery.

7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.

8. Insert the battery only.

9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

If this had an impact, it should behave differently.

If not, Press the power button and then tap the F2 key to invoke the startup menu.

Choose and click on the F10 key to invoke the BIOS.

Use the System Configuration tab. Disable USB Charging and press the F10 key to save the changes and boot into Windows.

Thank's fot your solution.

the problem was that the pc doesn't identified which was the carge of the battery so i made a reset of it by doing a cycle of problem analysis in bios interface until the pc shuted down.

after that it recognized that the battery was at zero and it starts work normally
