Pavillion dv6500
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello.

I have an HP Pavilion dv6620ev  with p/n KB339EA#B1A and I wonder if I can upgrade it's processor. My current CPU is Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo T5250  @ 1.50GHz,  my MB is 30CC 79.22, the BIOS is F.23 and I have windows 10  installed.

I've read in the forum that there is no BIOS upgrade for Windows 10. So I want to know which CPUs can I use in the current installation of my system and which is the best choice (faster CPU) I can make if I downgrade my OS to windows VISTA or 8.1.

Thank you in advance.

Hi:

Without a BIOS update, the best you can do is the T7300.

However, if you reinstall Vista, you can update the BIOS to the latest version, and you can then install the T9500.

This package contains the WinFlash utility and a System BIOS image for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The WinFlash utility is used to locally flash the System BIOS (ROM) on notebooks operating in a Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System environment.

The older F.45 BIOS revision adds support for the following processors...

Version: F.45

Fixed in this release: Fixes issue where the 1394 port may not work after resuming from Standby mode.Adds support for Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processors T8100, T8300, T9300, and T9500.
