HP ProBook 450 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone. Not a long ago our IT department got one pair of new HP ProBook 450 G7 laptops with i5-10210U. Me and colleague both have question about that new 450 G7 can support charging through an USB-C/thunderbolt port (or from dock). Is that true or still not?

update: I didn’t know that my own probook 430 G6 to be charged from usb-c port because there was no lightning icon at the port.  Like in 450 G6-G7. But now it works. My 430 G6 is charging for now and 450 G7 too😂

Yes, you can charge your machine using compatible USB-C charger or compatible dock. You can use

  • HP Smart 65 W USB Type-C adapter (highly recommended)
  • HP Smart 45 W USB Type-C adapter

Nore info:

For docking station, I'm using a similar machine to connect to USB-C Gen 5 dock right now.

Regards.
