I purchased my laptop a little over 3 years ago while in grad school to write my dissertation, it always made a little crackling noise by the fan side and got a little warm but never thought anything of it. Then a little over a month ago it started sparking and smelling of burnt smoke, I quickly unplugged it and waited. I was able to turn it on again, but now it won't charge and to be honest I'm afraid if I leave it connected it will explode. It's already out of warranty but now I find out this is a known issue for these laptops and HP never recalled this dangerous product? I paid well over $1,500K just to have it died on me completely, after only being lightly used and well taken care off. How is this laptop still being sold? Will HP not recall or fix this issue at all?

Hi thank you for the reply, I did as instructed but no phone or chat option comes up. It identifies my product, says it's out of warranty (which I already knew) and the only thing close to a support, it's a list for near service centers in my geographic area. I was expecting a chat bubble like those available when you're purchasing, then they pop up incessantly but not when you nedd help/support ...
Indeed as many have said about this product $1500 down the drain, I will have to replace it but never again with an HP product. Completely disappointed with the quality of the brand, this thing was not cheap and HP does not stand behind it's products.
