Spectre
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HP Spectre warping, bulging, case now separating. Any news on this? The case is now separated about 1/2" from 1 inch in on either side into the middle. I can see the mother board now. I do not feel comfortable traveling with it now as it seems the overall integrity of the laptop is compromised. What has HP done? What do they feel is the latent defect in design or manufacture? Do we all pause when looking at a new laptop and look at not returning to HP? If I was HP management I would be concerned. Not good folks.

Hello,

I'm seeing a bulging case so much so that the case is bulging top and bottom and coming apart. What should we do to open a a case on this? The battery recall tool says I'm fine, but my separated case says I have a problem

I took it to a local PC repair shop. Geek Squad at Best Buy said it could not be fixed. I did not get a very hopeful outcome from HP. The local shop was able to purchase a new battery, install the battery, preserve data and all software and put the laptop back together so it looks brand new. This was all done for under $200.00 USD. A bulging and overheating battery is dangerous. Get it fixed as quickly as possible. It is back perfect! It is back perfect!
