HP Spectre x360 13 inch

My Spectre failed on me out of my warranty. I thought it was my hard drive that had gone bad after recieving Boot Device Check error messages, shutting my laptop off randomly and frequently, so I had a compuuter technician examine it only to discover my motherboard is fried. Transferred out all of my files and priced the repair above $600, half the price of the laptop?? After finding out it is a common defect and a manufacturer error, I don't know how to go about repairing it, without having to pay that much for a repair on a product that should be recalled. I've had the $1300 laptop for less than 3 years and it is already unusable. Anyone with any advice on how to move forward with the repair is very much appreciated. Considering switching brands because the quality simply isn't there with this model.

@capncalifornia I understand your concern and I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.

They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact.

 

Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
