HP Spectre x360 - 13-w023dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Spectre x360 13-w013dx, BIOS F.52

It is regularly charging when the computer is off. Everything goes normally in its way. But, when I turn the computer on, the amber light is blinking and it starts not to charge the computer.

If I disconnect the battery and attach the charging cable everything works very well. But, when I attached the battery, and then turn the computer on and plug the usb-c carging cable the amber light starts blinking again.

The battery is new. And the charging cable and adaptor work regularly.

When I start sytem diagnosis on BIOS environment the ac adaptor and battery seem normal. But, when I apply System Hardawre diagnosis test on Windows 10  emvironment the systen can not detect the battery.

I have applied battery adjustment test a couple times, but nothing changed. The proplem is still ongoing.

How can this probelem be solved?

That is a sign of the battery's condition that would lead me to replace the battery. The battery's on-board S.M.A.R.T. controller chip should be communicating with the embedded controller via the SMB bus. If it is not, there is a problem with the battery.

You should try resetting the (EC) embedded controller chip, although at this stage it probably won't resolve the issue.

From a power of state, hold down the Windows key and the B key.

While holding down the aforementioned keys press the power button and hold those keys down for at least eleven

seconds.

Finally I made the Hardware  Diagnosis Test on Windows 10 environment and I got successful result both ac adaptor and battery information. However, I still have the same problem. The amber light is blinking desptie the battery charging level is 98% when I use laptop while the ac is plugged. When I turn the laptop off the charge process goes on on its regular way without any problem. But when I turned on the laptop and start browsing web or doing anything else, it behave strangely. Istead of regular charging constant amber light, it starts blinking. Thus, it is not charging battery. This can be clearly seen on the footage below.

Hi @cihangul-tr

That is useful information, but did you reset the embedded controller as I suggested?

I do suspect the battery has issues since it is two years or more since it was produced.
The notebook has been in use since @2017 or thereabouts.

The blinking amber led means that  there is no communication between the battery and the embedded controller on the system board via the SMB bus.

The Operating System uses the EC to control/initiate the charging process while the notebook is connected to the power adapter and booted into Windows.

I have applied what you said. While the laptop an and ac adaptor plugged, I pressed and hold Windows and B key. While holding aformentioned both keys, I pressed power button during 11 minutes.  Unfortunately nothing has changed. The interesting issu is that while the battery is 100% and just the Windows desktop is on the while light is constantly running. When I clicked and application it turns on blinking amber light.

Hown about trying  it again. You did not quite get what I said.

This time do not hold the power button in. You only have to press the power button once to initiate the reset and continue holding only the Windows and B keys down for at least eleven seconds.
