Solved!

HP Spectre x360 motherboard burned up

HP Recommended
HP Spectre x 360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

It seems as though every other person who owns this laptop has already reported it, but I was using my laptop and the screen went black and my motherboard is now burnt, it heated up in my lap after it had shut off, it was not warm prior to the screen shutting off.  The mother board is burnt, it could have caused a fire or caused me serious burns, but it is out of warranty so HP has made it impossible for me to speak to anyone about this issue.  Im really disappointed because it was a great laptop and I now cannot even find someone that has a port to get my hard-drive info out of the laptop.  I now am the proud owner of a $1500 brick and a new motherboard costs over half the cost of the laptop.  Is someone able to tell me what to do to get it fixed? It seems like HP is fixing some of the laptops and not others, but I started to get burned by my laptop and Im not sure thats right.

Thank you

I'm having the same issue. Seeing a lot of reports on this, and I don't see a recall on it. I was in the middle of working on my laptop when it randomly shut off and wouldn't turn back on. Turns out the motherboard is burnt for no apparent reason.

Can someone please refer me to a HP rep about this issue please?

Thank you!

I am having the same issue and this is the second time! The first one was under warranty (barely) and now of course I am out of the warranty period. This should be a recall. Can I get some support? I'd like to get a working laptop again...
