Hi I have a HP Spectre x360 model 14-ea0023dx. For no apparent reason the laptop stopped charging. I replaced the charging power cable (The usb-c was visually broken on it) with a NICPower AC Adapter 65W AC Charger adapter that said it would work with my laptop model. The laptop is not charging. the USB-C port that is at the corner of the device broke about a month after i purchased the laptop. So it never worked, I have since then been using the UCB-C on the right side of the laptop since then without issue. This is where i have been charging the laptop.
My Bios version is F.27 - the latest.
I performed a hard reset as provided by the HP web site.
I ran the hp diagnostic urfi on boot, by hitting esc the f2. I ran component test for battery and ac adapter. Battery passes adapter while it is charging passes, when the system cycles to not charging it says it can not detect the adapter.
Can you provide me a link to a genuine power charging adapter? Also can you provide me a link to a replacement motherboard? What other things can I do to get me laptop charging. I don't want to replace it.
The battery is at 20% and decreasing each time i start my laptop up.
FYI: I am a recent retiree and have 31 years working in the computer industry and am familiar with working on computers.
