Hello, After 9 months my dock also developed a fan noise causing disruptions to WFH. HP replaced the dock in one day via the warranty, but wanted to make a statement about the fan in the failed dock. I disassembled the failed dock, which is very tricky and not recommended, and found no dust or other issues that would cause a noisy fan. My opinion is that the fan is defective, meaning the rotating mechanism failed and this is a manufacturing defect. If you fan fails in warranty, call support and get it replaced. Then monitor your dock over the next year to see if it fails again in warranty for replacement . Hopefully HP switched fan suppliers and this will not happen again. This dock is industry leading where you have have 3x monitors connected to your LT; love the TB G2 dock. We all know these types fans typically never and nor have issue ever. Go HP for rock solid customer service and engineering, bad 3rd party fan supplier.  Good Luck.
