HP ENVY 13 ab027nf
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a HP Henvy Notebook 13 ab027nf - 1NB12EA#ABF

I am using a port replicator which reference is : X7W49AA. This device does not work anymore.

It seems to not be available anymore. Searching on the HP website, I found what seems to be the replacement

HP USB DOCK - 1PM64AA#AC3

1/ Could you pelase confirm this will be compliant with my HP Envy Notebook

2/ Is there any other model that would be compliant.

Regards.

X7W49AA is an HP USB-C Travel Dock which is NOT compatible with your Envy machine.  The specs of your machine is

Its USB-C port is NOT compatible with nearly all true USB-C docks, including the USB-C mini dock. Depending on your requirement you have to look a different solution.

Hello,

I am affraid the answer is partially not correct.

This is correct that my computer comes with an USB-C port which is not compatible with true USB-C docks. However, X7W49AA is an HP USB-C Travel Dock that comes with a driver that emulates  the display link protocol to transfer video/ethernet over the USB-C between the computer and the dock.

I am using it for more than 2 years with no problems. So, compatibility of X7W49AA is not an open question.

My concern is that its seems X7W49AA is no more available and I am looking for a replacement.

The only one I found is 1PM64AA but I am not sure if it comes as well with a driver that would emulate the displaylink protocol as was doing X7W49AA

Regards
