HP ZBook studio G5 w/ Samsung SSD 970 Evo plus

HP ZBook studio G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Can HP ZBook Studio G5 support Samsung SSD 970 EVO PLUS 1TB? My bios can recognise the model, but “THIS PC “ doesn’t show the hard disk.

Please help.

Thank you.

I am no expert, but first I will check if it appears in disk management, hit Windwos+X, then letter K.

often, you have to create a volume/logical drive and/or format the drive for windows to use it. but it is a great plus that your BIOS can detect it. Bios detection is 80% of the way.

just for kicks, in which BIOS you are ? in older Zbook Studios, a Bios update was needed for the machine to recognize nonHP part drives -but here I am showing my age, I think that was only the problem with the very first vintages of the Studio G3.

In this video I'll explain how to get your hard drive to show up in "My Computer" if it isn't.
