I bought a laptop on thursday (12th October) and I seem to get a continuous noise coming from the laptop, i can assume that it is the hard drive or the fan, it is like it had bween in constant use and is making a constant grinding/spinning sound, the HDD lght also flickers constantly and is never not flickering i have tried the BOIS options and had set the fan to not continously be on but this did nothing,

I have read lots online with people having the same issue with other models of HP and ASUS laptops, my old toshiba doesnt make this sound but it needed replacing.

Any help would be grateful as im used to a smooth HDD laptop and the SDD version ideally wasnt enough storage.

Thanks in advance.

Had the same issue. After updating my BIOS per your recommendation, the noise quieted dramatically. Now, instead of a grinding, I would describe it as a rattle.

Are there any other updates that could solve this?
