HP laptop model 17-by0068d Lid won't close. If forced, pulls the laptop right edge apart

HP 17-by0068d
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This HP 17-by0068d is less than 2 years old with no problems until today. Using it and it worked perfectly one minute then I closed it. Opened it 10 minutes later and the hinged lid was stuck. It opened but I cannot adjust it back to block glare and I can't shut it either. It is just stuck in place in a 90 degree angle. If I force it, the casing pulls off the laptop's top right edge on the top and bottom. Seems like something is binding it into one spot. How do I fix this. Help!!
