HP SPECTRE x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Spectre initially died in early 2019, only a few months after I got it. It was working fine and then all of a sudden just stopped booting. (the power light would come on, but nothing would happen) We took it to a specialist in my town who took a look and showed me a BIG scorch mark on the motherboard. The repair was going to be expensive so I opted not to at the time, but when I picked it up, strangely enough, it booted up again. It worked for some time after that but once again it died somewhere around back in Feb. 2020.

I contacted an HP support agent who could only quote me in $750 in repairs as my warranty had just expired. What! No way I could pay that at the time. So I lost hope, and my laptop has been sitting dead ever since.

I've seen this same issue EVERYWHERE on these forums. Burnt motherboard, faulty capacitors. Whatever it is, it's the same issue over and over again and HP has yet to post a recall? That's not only a safety issue but an insult to HP consumers.

I'm posting here as one last attempt to get some sort of resolution. Anyone else still experiencing this issue themselves? ...And anyone else never buying from HP again?  😒
