HP notebook: hp-15bg002A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi team,

My Hp notebook (hp-15bg002A) product info on HP support assistant gives Ram info as "4gb hynix 1600mhz" and  on HP website it says "4 GB DDR3L-1600 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB)". However laptop task manager says memory frequency as 800 MHz! why this discrepancy in Ram frequency?

Also in task manager it says slot used - 1 of 2. So i can increase the ram but how much more? And do i need to purchase Hynix ram only? Please assist.

Thanks

@MJraidon Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to add one more memory.

I  have checked the manual ( page number 2)

Two non-customer-accessible/nonupgradable memory module slots DDR4-1866 dual channel support (DDR4-2400 bridge to DDR4-2133, and DDR4-2133 downgrade to DDR4-1866) Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following conƭgurations

● 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)[UMA models only]

● 12288-MB total system memory (8192×1) + (4096×1)

● 8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2)

● 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1) + (2048×1)

In that case, I would suggets you conatct our phone support and check.

Or you can conatct a local service center for memory replacement.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
