HP omen 15 (2020) heat sink glue pad spread all over the components
12-09-2020 07:16 AM - edited 12-09-2020 07:18 AM

I have no issues with my HP Omen 15 (2020 Model) until recently I found a small peace of foam (or sponge) like component stuck in my Laptop air vent! So I opened up the back plate in order to remove it! And shocked that i found the foam like substance spread all over the laptop components (Attached images). I have no idea what it is or how it happened, but it seems like the glue pads of heat sink are melting due to heat (This is a gaming laptop and it will heat during gaming). However i occasionally play games during weekends and always measure my laptop temperature during gaming and it never went above 85 Degree Celsius anytime as its reasonable for any laptop with good thermals. Please help me as to what is this substance and why it had happened?. or this a design flaw for this model? Kindly suggest me good practices for avoiding such instance.
Thank you in advance 🙂
