Product: HP Notebook

So I have a PS4 pro internal hard drive that I would like to format on my HP Notebook. I was told I could connect it right into the motherboard. I have done that but when I powered on the Laptop it starts the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. I did the F10 and BIOS thing. And I have done the extensive test but the testing froze at 99% complete. I really just want to format my PS4 Pro Internal Hard Drive. I m aware I maybe doing it wrong so please help.
