HP advise I can't buy a replacement battery, as battery is 'discontinued model' (2 year laptop is out of warranty).

 

HP unable to advise details of the newer model battery that replaced the discontinued model. This has been going on since 26th November. Laptop can be bought with 5 years support, so if it was still under warranty how would HP source a replacement battery?

 

Not looking to claim warranty, I just want to buy a replacement battery!

 

I originally logged this case over 2 days ago and was told by HP that  I would be contacted by 'the appropriate team', but have heard nothing.

If HP are not able to assist me I would strongly recommend to never buy HP as they seem unwilling to provide spare-parts outside their warranty period.

First of all, what is your Spectre X360 15-bl0XX ? For example HP Spectre x360 - 15-bl012dx, its specs

The above machine uses   6-cell, 79.2 Wh Li-ion part # 902499-856. Probably your machine uses SAME part which is not available from HP now

Please use part # and search elsewhere such as

Hi Banhein, thanks for replying.

Literally, the laptop states it is Spectre X360 15-bl0XX. See the screenshot URL below.

 It also says the same thing when I do the battery test.

Yes I am told the current battery type that I need a compatible replacement is: 902499-856 - ASSY-BATT 6C 79WH 3.43AH LI KB06079XL-P
