Hi! @harman22, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!.
I understand that you are getting HP v220 Drive is Write Protected error on your flash drive.
Don't worry I will try to help you out.
Have you tried using a different pen drive on your PC? Does it work?
Please try few steps recommended below.
Open a command prompt and type the following commands below.
SELECT DISK 1 (If the flash drive is listed as disk 1)
ATTRIBUTES DISK CLEAR READONLY
If the issue still persists try the steps mentioned below.
Click on your Start Menu and type Regedit into the Search for programs and files field
Navigate to- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
and look for a key named WriteProtect.
If that key exists, right-click on it and click on Modify.
Now, you’ll probably find that the value for this is set to 1. 1 means “Yes, write protect my USB storage device.” So you can guess that 0 means “No, don’t write protect my USB storage device.” Now change that value to 0 and click on the OK button.
Let me know if it works!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂
