Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, hopefully someone can help me.

Only had the laptop six weeks, and now it's throwing up this hard disk error (3F2) and I can't get past this black screen showing an error after I turn it on. I've ran a component diagnostics check and it's passing all tests. The HP support team asked me to use the F11 recovery manager, but I can't access it through F 11 when turning on and I have no idea why - I can access the BIOS settings page and the diagnostics page.

I'm really getting frustrated - the laptop is almost brand new, and I can't really use the live support HP provide because it's only between the hours of 9 and 6 and like a lot of people I work those hours.

If anyone had any advice I'd be so grateful.

Thanks in Advance

@Knine9 Greetings from the HP Community!

Here are a few things you can do to identify and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Perform a hard reset

HP Notebook PCs - Performing a Hard Reset or Forced Reset

Step 2: Restore BIOS default setting

Step 3: Test the hard drive using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI (In your case, Skip to Step 4

Step 4: Reseat the hard drive (here's a video that shows how to re-seat the drive: Click here)

Step 5: If the tests pass, Perform an HP System Recovery

(If none of the above actions resolved the error condition, back up your personal data) and then perform an HP System Recovery on the notebook:

Unfortunately I'd already carried out those tests, which the laptop passed, and could not access the recovery manager as you'd suggested - my original post stated that I couldn't do this. I've returned the product now for a refund.

@Knine9 I understand, I hoped repeating all the steps in the suggested sequence would gain different results, although, I wish you good luck in your future purchases,

Have a good day, ahead.
