See p. 59 for the process. This is not super easy.
Supports 6.35-cm (2.5-in) hard drives in 9.5-mm (.37-in) and 7.0-mm (.28-in) thicknesses Serial ATA
Your laptop came with a 1TB 5400 rpm 2.5 inch SATA drive and this would be an exact replacement:
You would have the option of installing a faster hard drive or an even much, much faster solid state drive. Happy to discuss. Also likely need to discuss how to get software (Windows, etc) onto the new drive.

Do you have an HP Recovery disk? The laptop would have given you the option to make one the first time you fired it up out of the box. Almost nobody does it though. You can order a recovery set from HP or find an OEM copy of Windows 8.1 which seems to have been the original shipping OS on the laptop.

After replacing my hard drive I had installed the OS in my new hard drive, after completing installation I run hard drive test and smart test & short Dst test show passed result, after that I turn off the Laptop
When I turn on the laptop next time I found a error message saying "selected boot image is not authenticate, please select enter".
Then again I ran hard drive test & result shows hard drive short Dst test failed
What is the steps taken after replacement of hard drive. Please help.
