That is a odd question.
A hard drive, or disk, is a hard drive. I mean as in comparing apples to apples. As long as the hard disk has the same interface it will work. A 2.5" SATA 3 notebook removed from an HP Pavilion will work in an HP ProBook.
It is suggested that you check the dimensions as well. Don't expect a hard disk with an operating system to work right away if you physically install one hard drive from a working notebook to another. You will still need to reinstall the OS.
