The PC3L 12800S DDR3 1600 1XR4 has no chance of working.
You need something like this:

Good day @Briskman
" am using a DDR3 stick from Samsung, which is supported "
How do you know that it is supported and not the cause of the no-boot scenario?
Guaranteed inexpensive compatible memory for the G62-219wm notebook ( $12.95 ea for 4GB modules).

Does the power LED light up when the power adapter is plugged in?
Does the battery charge?
That is a truly old laptop, which means that the battery and other components could easily have reached the end of their service life.

What are the specs on the Samsung memory?
It is very hard to find the right memory to work in an old notebook like yours.
The memory has to be DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600), 1.5V, 2Rx8 (8 little black memory chips on each side of the circuit board).
DDR3L-1600 memory won't work.

The most important thing is the power issue.
What happens when you plug it in even without the memory installed?

Maybe your friend remembers what the spec is.
In any event there is nothing you can do regarding making that memory work.
It's plug and play.
I would imagine that it is DDR3L-1600 as most of the DDR3 memory chips are that have been made in the last 10 years.

That is a good question I don't know, but yes the battery charges and the light is orange, but pushing the power button does nothing, not even the charging light does anything, it's just a solid orange light, which indicates charging, (keep in mind, I'm using a 65 Watt charger which is ok)
