So, I want to open my laptop to insert more ram but I don't want to mess up the laptop by doing something wrong when opening it. Also what type of ram should I use? like is the ram used for pc's different from the ones used in laptops or what?

Hi,
It supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM (2x8GB)
On page 76 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM. Yours is not the easiest model to upgrade as you need to remove the motherboard, flip it, to get to the slots

You should also replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD which would give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC.
Hope it helps,
David

You're welcome.
Yes, you can just put the extra RAM.
I just mention the SSD as it would give a very noticeable boost in the everyday performance of the machine.
Take care,
David
