The laptop came with 4g RAM (1.91 reusable) and 500g hard disk. It is extremely slow and frustrating.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

Your PC has the Intel® Celeron® N3060 processor, so there is only one memory slot.
You would need to remove the 4 GB memory module and replace it with an 8 GB memory module, which is the maximum size you can install.
