Pavilion Dv7 6030ew
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all.

I have just upgraded to Windows 10 on my Dv7 6030ew (LK784EA#AKD) and I was wondering HOW MUCH RAM CAN I INSTALL and what kind, so it still work with the motherboard?

According to the original specification it is no more than 8 GB but maybe with the new OS it could be 16GB??

cheers

8 gigs is the max ONLY on AMD. On Intel it is 16 gigs and this is an Intel model.

Here is the Manual:

Manual

Supports the following configurations: ● 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)

It supports 16 gigs of RAM

Memory modules (2, DDR3, 10600, 1333-MHz) 8 GB (for use only with computer models equipped with an Intel processor) 634091-001

wow, thank you for your reply.

I just wanted to make sure, because on page of the manual it says: Supports up to 8192 GB of system RAM and as you have mentioned, on page 6 the configuration is 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)  which makes all together 16GB of RAM.

Is there a chance there is a mistake in the manual and the 16 gb value is simply wrong?

No look at the check boxes to the right. The 8 gig applies to AMD models and 16 gigs is for Intel. Many people have reported success with 16 gigs on the Intel models.
