HP Pavilion x360 14-cd1000na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop fall from +-30 cm on to a floor. Got mechanically broken (2) top cover , (24) bottom enclosure part# L22202-001 and cracked touch screen. I need to replace cover and enclosure as (1)display assembly still can be used. Logged a case # on  10Jan2022 asking to buy parts as consumer customer. Was promised that will receive quote to buy parts. This quote never  came. On 21Jan2022 called to find out what is a position of my case. Was told that HP Inc does not sale parts to customers like me!?  They want to repair laptop them self. What a utter nonsense. In same manner we will not be able to buy a car parts or any other parts for any unit produced!

Any suggestions how to deal with this situation, please.

* part names taken from doc # L24219-002.

Hi HP expert,

You claim that you are not paid HP employ , but you sound as HP Agent.

As I am graduated and experienced electronic technician and computer engineer I didn't ask what to do and how to do it when repair my own laptop. I asked only to buy a parts from HP. I was told when first contact HP department that will be supplied quote to buy parts - this never happened. Next call when I asked what is going on citing and my case # I was blatantly told that HP not selling parts to customers like me - this practice is only to make money from customers.  Even car producers are selling parts for they cars. And cars are much more complicated and dangerous products.

Don't accept your answer even as so called HP expert.

Never again will buy anything from HP.

To find the parts for sale , all you have to do is use Google or your preferred search engine to locate an online vendor in the UK.

If the touch screen is cracked, you will need to replace the display assembly.

It is not utter nonsense. That is the uniform industry business model and has been that way since notebook and PCs cam to be produced and marketed.

The right to repair exists in many countries, but not everyone is capable of repairing delicate electronics. Your notebook will need to be completely disassembled.

Good luck!
