Hello,
I hope you are doing well.
The left side hinge got out of it's place and had broken the bottom cover ( the screw holder) and due to that i need to press the power button hardly to turn the laptop on so i did a reserach online and found out that this is a common problem with my laptop model. I want to buy new hinges plus the cover but i am afraid that the problem will happen again so any suggestions? did HP changed the type of Hinges material as i read its the problem cause?
product Number: G6R97UA#ABA
Thank you for your help

Unfortunately from the picture (thanks for posting) I can tell if your laptop were a car it's a total loss. The screw mounts have pulled out so you need hinges and top cover and base enclosure. If you really want to proceed post back and we will try to find an economical solution.

will the new hinges solve the problem as the problem in the metal type hinges used in this model?
Thank you for your help

Hinges are cheap. Replace in pairs. I would like to say that better hinges were made and now there is no problem but the hinges available to purchase are either knockoffs made in a back alley or come from the same production run as the original hinges so prone to all the same problems. The problem is not the metal it is how tight they are. The effort to move the hinges tugs and pulls at the mounting points and you can see the result. If there is a bolt on the hinges at the place where they bend it has been suggested to back off the tension just a bit just enough so the screen still stands up. Other than that, all I can tell you is replacing the hinges is likely to give you at least another year of usage and this time you will know what is happening if you hear noises or the effort to open the screen seems higher than it should be.
And the part you need is not the bottom cover that you open to access the hard drive, etc. its the "base enclosure", i.e. the main "tub" where the motherboard is bolted in. The only proper fix for this is going to be a full field strip of the laptop. Disassemble and place all the parts back in the new base enclosure and then build up the display assembly with the new hinges.

Thank you for your suggestion and solution. The top cover is the one with Beats logo and this which needs to be replaced but for the bottom, the screw holes are broken, and I can't tight them to the base so I guess both of covers are needed in my case.
as for the hinges, I am afraid to get knockoffs so what do you suggest to get good new ones which are better than the old ones (new production)? I am currently outside US so from where can i get those spare parts? and what is the estimated cost?
Thank you for your help

The only way to know for sure you are not getting knockoffs is to order direct from HP. And I already explained they have not made new hinges. Any they have come from the same production run as the original laptop. The factory is only set up to make a laptop for a few months and they make all the laptops and all the spare parts ever made during that time.

Thank you for your help, i really appreciate your efforts.
I tried to call HP in my current city, but they didn't get back to me so is there a way to order from the united states website and ship them to an address in US?
Thank you
