Spectre x360 4040-nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello.

My HP spectre x360 4040-nd is not charging anymore . Within a year after buying the laptop had the same problem and was repared by HP. Now I discovered a burned SMD capacitor on the motherboard and I want to replace this capacitor. The problem is that I don't know the value of it. I already contacted HP service for it but they told me that it was difficult for them to determine etc. They advised me to buy another one.  So I hope that someone on the forum can tell me the valua of the replacing SMD capacitor.

Hi @DirkB1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!

Hello.
Well, I alteady contacted HP but they are not willing to help me because the laptop is out of warranty. So I asked them to tell me the value of the capacitor so I can replace it myself.  They told me that it was difficult to determine. Because the problem is a production fault in the motherboard I think that HP should repair it even if it is out of the normal consumer warranty. I don’t like a long way of arguing with HP so if someone can tell me the value of the capacitor I will replace it myself.
