I was thinking of upgrading the storage of my laptop from 512GB to 2TB, but I'm not sure if this model is limited to a SSD of maximum 1TB. 
The idea is buying the 2GB option shown in the kingston page for this laptop:

Generally, M.2 NVMe SSDs have no size limit. You can upgrade the M.2 SSD up to 4 TB in capacity. 

 

Your M.2 slot is PCIe 4.0 (gen 4).

 

Crucial reports that 15-fa0xxx models support max 4 TB M.2 NVMe SSDs and offers 2 TB M.2 NVMe drives with different read/write speeds.

The service manual (on pages 32-33) shows how to install/replace M.2 drives.
