@E2313, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

If you've forgotten the administrator password on your HP laptop and need to remove or reset it, here are a few options depending on how your account is set up:

If You're Using a Microsoft Account to Sign In

  1. Go to the Microsoft Account Recovery page.
  2. Follow the prompts to reset your password.
  3. Once reset, use the new password to log in to your laptop.

If You're Using a Local Account (Not Microsoft Account)

Option 1: Use Another Admin Account (if available)

If there's another administrator account on the laptop:

  1. Log in with that account.
  2. Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage another account.
  3. Select the account you forgot the password for.
  4. Click Change the password and set a new one.

Option 2: Reset the PC (if no other admin access)

This will remove all files and apps, so back up if possible.

  1. On the login screen, click Power > Restart while holding Shift.
  2. Select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  3. Choose Remove everything to fully reset the laptop.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
