Hi @W1rage,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When encountering power issues with your HP Spectre laptop, especially if you're unable to perform a hard reset, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check Power Adapter and Connections: Ensure that the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet. Try using a different power outlet and check if there are any signs of damage to the power adapter or its cable.
  • Reset the Power: Disconnect the power adapter from the laptop and remove any peripheral devices connected to it. Then press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds to drain any residual power from the system. After that, reconnect the power adapter and try turning on the laptop again.
  • Inspect for Physical Damage: Look for any physical damage to the laptop, particularly around the power port and the charging cable. If you notice any damage, it could be causing a connection issue or short circuit.
  • Test with Another Power Adapter: If possible, try using another compatible power adapter to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem lies with the power adapter or the laptop itself.
  • Check Battery Health: Although the battery is integrated, there might be a way to check its health through the BIOS or diagnostic tools provided by HP. If the battery is faulty, it could cause charging issues and prevent the laptop from powering on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
