Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello,

The last few days I've had a lot of problems with the battery of my notebook. My battery won't charge and my laptop only works when it charges. I've already done a battery check but it doesn't work when I want to test it. The test always cancels both HP support assistent and HP PC Hardware Diagnostics. I don't know what to do because I can't replace my battery and I just want to know what's wrong with my notebook. Could this problem be due to the fact that I am currently abroad for 2 months using diffrent voltages?

Is there a possibility that I can calibrate my notebook? Maybe that fixes the problem?

Thanks for your help!

I have the same issue. Can't run the battery or the AC adapter test using the PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows app.  It always goes to "canceled". All the other tests work OK and there are no problems detected. My computer is a Pavilion Note-15-p167ca running Windows 10.  It has all the updates provided regularly by Micosoft.  Don't see any bent or broken pins in the battery compartment. Tried the 9 step procedure to uninstall and reinstall the battery driver - it had no effect. Don't currently have HP Support Assistant installed to run the power tests with that. (Why would that be any different?) What to do now?

@MarkyG, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have issues running battery test on your PC.

Did you make any hardware or software changes on your PC?

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

As you mentioned when you run a battery test on your PC you get an error message as canceled.

Try updating the BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.

Update the BIOS on your PC using this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp87001-87500/sp87479.exe

After the update try to remove the battery and adapter from your PC and hold the power button for 60 seconds and place the battery back in.

And try running a battery test again and check if the issue persists.

If the issue still persists after updating the BIOS, it is a hardware issue with the battery or the battery connector on the system board must have gone faulty.

Updated the BIOS, removed and re-installed the battery as suggested. Tests still don't run.
