Pavilion G4 - 1303AU
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

system shows 4 gb ram but only 1.48 gb is usable rest is reserved for hardware i am using windows 7 64 bit. i looked about this on internet and found a solution msconfig but that didnt work for me and also using memory remapping in BIOS but i could not find anything ss1.jpglike that

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,  I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

  1. Open 'Run' (Windows + R)
  2. Go to the 'Boot' tab
  3. Press Advanced Options
  4. Make sure 'Maximum Memory' is unchecked.

Hi thanks for the reply 

I think you have missed the second step about which program to open but i guess you are talking about msconfig and i have already tried unchecking the max memory box and its no good.

Have you tried performing BIOS update? 

If no, let's update the BIOS and check. Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
