Product: Pavilion gaming lapto
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My custom pavilion gaming computer does not have enough disk space.  I'm a software junkie.  This 256 drive doesn't cut it at all.  I need a 1 terrabyte minimum.

I purchased one at Best Buy and was going to have them install it tonorrow.

But I wanted to know if it's the right kind and if it would void my warranty.  I have the extended accident coverage for 3 years one.

I'm sorry but this is just a self-help community forum staffed by volunteers and we are not authorized to provide official answers to warranty questions.

 

But my own personal advice is DO NOT DO THIS.  You paid extra for an extended warranty and ALL WORK has to be done by an HP certified facility.  Best Buy might be one of those, but since it is Geek Squad, I seriously doubt it -- and a simple Internet search will yield lots of horror stories about Geek Squad work.  So, I would not trust them with any of my computer equipment.

 

Suggest you contact HP to find out for certain if they are allowed to do warranty work on your PC.
