I want to add a ssd as the boot drive & upgrade the ram to 12 or 16GB, (original config has 1 TB HDD & 8GB RAM), does it have the extra slot/s for SATA II or m.2 NVME, does the motherboard support the upgrade, how do I transfer the OS from HDD to SSD, is the HP warranty valid after the upgrade (Should I approach the authorised HP service centre to get the hardware installed by them to retain the warranty), Is the original windows 10 Home lifetime validity intact after the upgrade. Thanks in anticipation

According to the Service Manual:
Your laptop does have a slot for an M.2 disk but only the SATA kind not the NVME kind.
Above is a picture of what you see when you open the laptop. You need something like a Samsung Evo 860 or WD Blue M.2 SSD.
Memory can be upgraded to 2 x 8 gigs DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM and the above picture also shows the memory slots. It can actually handle 2 x 16 = 32 gigs if your budget permits.
No reason to worry about warranty or the Windows license. You can clone the hard drive to the SSD or do a clean install onto the M.2 disk. Windows 10 is now a free download at the "Media Creation Tool" site and you need no Key Code to reactivate. It just works.
HP Service Center in most countries will not install 3rd party hardware. We can easily walk you through doing the upgrades yourself and if we know where you live (country) help you find the upgrade parts you need.
Post back with any other questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed.
