According to your Service Manual here - http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04409502.pdf  you can install 1 PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz module for a total of 8GB

 

You can go here https://www.crucial.com/store/crucial-advisor-trust and look up compatible ram for your laptop.

Alternatively, Windows users can determine the maximum RAM capacity in the Command prompt (Run as Administer) with the command here- "wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity" without the quotes and divide the value by 1024 That will give you the total ammount supported by your laptop. 

 

If the above test shows 16GB, you should be able to install 1 16GB DDR3 1600 module in it.
