It is possible you need to update drivers or the bios.

Bios updates do have a potential to cause damage, with being a new computer I suggest contacting HP support for assistance with that process.  They can remotely connect to your system to help find and fix issues and you should have warranty.

Have you done all your Windows updates?

 

Have you run the  HP Support Assistant?

 

Although your notebook is new it could have sat on the shelf or storage room for a while and accumulated dust.
