@Ferrit101 , welcome to the forum.

Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the laptop.  In Chapter 6, Removal and replacement procedures for Authorized Service Provider parts, is a list of compatible SSD's and instructions for installing/replacing it.  Item 5, in the instructions, has a link to the section on removing the bottom cover on Page 36.

You can leave the HDD installed and use it for storage if you choose to do so.  I recommend Samsung SSD's.  They seem to be the most compatible with HP BIOS'es and have their own Data Migration software, as well as, their Magician software for tweaking the SSD once it is installed.  If you buy a Samsung SSD, the best way to install it as the boot drive is, install the SSD into the socket provided for it.  Install the Data Migration software on the HDD and run it.  It will ask for the Target drive which will be the M.2, SSD.  Once the HDD has been cloned to the SSD, you can go into the BIOS and change the boot order to the SSD.  Then, boot the laptop.  It should boot to the SSD.
