Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Pavilion g7-1260us notbook pc has 4GB memory (stock). I would like to upgrade it to 8GB, Do I neeed to replace both memory cards? Or can I just add  another 4GB card in the other empty slot and have 8GB total?

Currently one slot is empty:

Therefore no need to remove the existing stick. You only need one stick which must be same specs as the existing stick and if you could, buy same brand.

If I am unable to get the same brand should i buy 2 new cards of thee same specs?
